'Some of the more extreme expressions of feminism have been harmful both to women and to men,' says Bishop Doran

The Catholic Bishop of Elphin, Dr Kevin Doran, has questioned if 'toxic masculinity' is linked to 'aggressive feminism' as he called for 'gentleness' between the sexes. n his homily on Sunday, the Sligo-based prelate suggested that 'some of the more extreme expressions of feminism have been harmful both to women and to men.' Toxic masculinity, Dr Doran said, meant that characteristics which are traditionally associated with masculinity, 'good things like strength and courage and honour, can sometimes become distorted and exaggerated in such a way that young men feel that it is ok to be violent and rude and to treat women disrespectfully'.

Prayer breaks out as Trump makes unexpected stop at burger shop

Whatever it is that you may think of former President Donald Trump, you can't argue that the man didn't put faith and prayer at the forefront. In fact, despite their currently frayed relationship, former Vice President Mike Pence and Trump actually helped spearhead something of a spiritual renaissance during the heyday of the Trump administration. And when Trump visited a burger and ice cream spot called Zesto in West Columbia, South Carolina, on Saturday, America was reminded of this. Here is one viral video of Trump's visit: This is the real @realDonaldTrump the media won't show you! pic.

That 'No Negotiation' Strategy

Let me start by saying that I think Democrats are doing just the right thing on their flat policy of non-negotiation on the debt-ceiling extension or increase. As several articles have reminded us today, Obama and Biden (and really all Democrats with their eyes open) learned this lesson in 2011-2013. But I think there's a slight clarification or additional elaboration that could help Democrats anticipate one line of attack from congressional Republicans. No one - not the White House or any Democrats on Capitol Hill - is saying they won't negotiate the federal budget or how much the country should be spending on this or that priority or how much debt the country should take on.
